The Church of What's Happening Right Now

I went to see my friends in the think/dance collective perform on Saturday night at the Lincoln Square Arts Center (which resides in Berry Church where we are members).  I've always enjoyed think/dance performances, and this one was no exception.  I love their organic, playful style, and their musical picks are totally awsome.  I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the ruffled petticoat skirts that they wore for their last piece as seen in this photo above taken at the beginning of that dance.

And here they are at the end of the performance with the set looking a bit messier than in the beginning.  The primary legs in both photos belong to my friend Liz, who is the founder and artistic director of think/dance.

And here's a shot from earlier on in the evening.  I love long exposures, especially when you're trying to capture an image in which it's next to impossible to freeze the action.

One embarrasing confession I have is that I was fiddling with my camera befor the show and accidentally set my camera on the lowest quality and smallest size available to shoot in.  I usually shoot in RAW (which is the equivalent of a digital negative with no data compression) to give me the most leeway in post-processing.  Oh well.  It was a valuable lesson learned.

You can see the rest of the photos on my Flickr.

I love how you photograph the legs/ feet/shoes-- they are ever so expressive in your pictures.
