What A Difference A Couple Days Can Make

This was on Sunday.  Do you see any snow anywhere?  Me neither.  You can actually see GREENERY.  It was the perfect day for jumping in all the puddles left behind by the melted snow, and believe you me, Cadence took full advantage of that.

This is Tuesday afternoon.  What's that?  No, that is not dust on my camera lens.  It's SNOW.  Lots of it.  Coming down, down, down.  It's pretty until your feet defy gravity and fall UP into the air out from under you cuz you can't see the lovely thick layer of ice beneath all the pretty powdery white stuff.  Now I know why people who slip on ice look like that in the cartoons.  Cuz that's how it looks in real life.  Or at least I imagine that's how I must've looked.

So what was I doing home on a Tuesday afternoon anyhow?  Two words.  Migraine.  Nausea.  It was quite the ordeal getting home, too, because I'd forgotten my keys, and Ted was working today.  My poor mother had to come get me from work and drive me to her home under considerable duress provided by me because I really needed to finish upchucking.  Then she drove me to the Wilmette Metra station in the snow, gave me her copy of my keys, and I got home safe and sound.  Except for the little mishap with my feet defying gravity on my walk home from the train.

And here's Cadence Tuesday night.  In a matter of a couple days, she's gone from a puddle jumper to a snow thrower.  After 36 years, my fascination with snow has waned somewhat, I admit, but I suppose for Cadence the wonder remains.

Oh my goodness! You poor thing. Glad you made it home in one piece.

I really love that picture of the side of the building and those delicate flecks of snow.

Wow, you managed to get some great shots in the midst of your struggle! This is impressive! I'm in Grand Rapids and can relate to the wierd weather. We're pretty much snowed in today!
