The Perfect Way to Welcome Spring

I went to see Neil Halstead at Schubas last night. This may sound silly, but it's not easy for me to talk about the experience of seeing him play live. You see, Neil is probably my all time favorite singer-songwriter. He is also one of the artists whose music was the soundtrack to one of the most pivotal periods of my life back in the spring of '02. I haven't seen him live since late 2003, but 3 of his songs are on Cadence's sleepy songs CD, so I've actually heard him sing probably every night for the past 4 years or so.

And today it is the first day of spring, although it's as blustery as a January day outside. I'm pretty sure I picked up a cold while taking photos outside of Schuba's last night, but the sky was so beautiful, I just had to take some long exposures.
Happy Spring, everyone!

Gorgeous spring images. Love the lights and colors in the night scene.
oh, your streetlights are amazing! I love it!
Love the photos, and how the streetlights look like stars :) I'm very curious, what's your Cadence sleepytime playlist?
i am so Jonesing for you nightlife....those starburst nightlife shots are awesome!
I would so take a cold for shots like this! hope you feel better soon!
Your nighttime street shot is so cool! We don't have enought traffic to do that and get a decent shot - I tried.
Thanks, everyone! I put my camera on the hood of my car for that last shot. The sky was just so lovely, even though it felt more like winter than the first day of spring (that photo was taken a little after midnight, so it WAS technically spring).
Bea, one of these days I will do a post on Cadence's sleepy songs CD.
