Dance Music

I went to another show this week.  My friend Chris Langill and I went to see John Vanderslice opening up for John Darnielle (of The Mountain Goats).  I've always wanted to see JV live, and it was super cool to see him play w/ his good friend JD.

This is John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats.  Some of you may be familiar with this photo of mine.  It's actually titled "For John Darnielle" because he has a song I really like called Love Love Love.  He's one of my favorite artists, and this is only the second time I've seen him live.  He's got some of the most adoring fans I've ever seen--you can just see the devotion on their faces at his show.

And here are some fans here on the Irving Park bus going home after the show.  They still had that glow from having been at the show.  I could totally relate...

Here below is a Pictobrowser of some more photos I took that night.  And yes, John Darnielle really did take to the stage as the Phantom of the Opera.  Apparently, he made a visit to the costume store across the street before the show.
