There's No Place Like Home...

There's no place like home except when the ruby slippers don't fit any more

...except when the Ruby Slippers don't fit any more.  Believe me when I tell you there was much hollering and gnashing of teeth.  With the weather fluctuations these days, we don't know if the shoes are gonna fit or not, and I really regret not getting these in a bigger size when I had the chance.

I'd like this one for my wall please. Perfectly captured, you can just see the woe. Everyone's got a pair of ruby slippers that don't fit anymore...love it.

I feel this way about my entire pre-pregnancy wardrobe. Thanks to my Incredible Hulk-like expansion, even my favorite collarless jean jacket doesn't fit anymore. I still keep it though, with the hopes that someday ... someday.

Dani, I tried to get thsoe, but they didn't have it in her size when I went. And they're not quite the same shoes. They don't make a racket when you walk in them like her current ones. We found her current ones at a thrift store in Portland. So many memories tied to these shoes...

Diane, that is a total quotable: "Everyone's got a pair of ruby slippers that don't fit anymore..." Add that to my list of songs to write...

Carol, don't get me started on the pre-preggers wardrobe. I have a HUGE box labeled ROCK T-SHIRTS of all the bands whose shows I went to, back when I used to fit into girly t-shirt sizes.
