Otherworldly

Does this look like planet earth to you? It's debatable. What kind of a landscape is this?

Here is another artifact from this strange, otherworldly place. I mean, what is that? A dead scorpion with way too many legs?

Here's a wider view. Is it making sense yet? Believe it or not, these photos were taken just a mile from my home. Yes, I did adjust the color just a tad in Lightroom to give the sky a not-totally-of-this-earth kind of a look, but even without the post-processing, these photos looked weird.

Surreal! Love the effect. It is truly other-worldly!!!
Absolutely amazing - these are wonderful! I just LOVE the one at the top; it is as if you're suspended above snow-covered trees looking at the mountains!
Thanks, ladies! Kelly, I am a deep lover of mountains (spent the first six years of my life in the hilly peninsula of South Korea), and I look for them wherever I can here in this flattest part of the earth otherwise known as Chicago. Those mountains in the background are mounds of ice and snow that had piled up on the frozen shores of Lake Michigan. It was a really weird sight. Almost like waves frozen in place. I'm glad I took the photos when I did because everything started melting later that day. It's 60 degrees today, and to think those photos are from just this Wednesday!
I was going to guess Lake Michigan with ice! It is really cool looking from that perspective.
gasp! you're so right. this could be the moon! i love these.
The first one looks like the area in which I live! That second one definitely looks like a dead bug with a few too many legs. Great shots.
