Downtown With Anna

I'm one of those weird photographers who like artificial light, especially at night in an urban setting.  I had the chance to take some shots of Anna Fermin downtown last night, and this is probably one of my favorites from the shoot.

Things have been crazy busy (when is it not?) and to make matter worse, my PAYING job has been super busy too, so I'm burning both ends of the candle pretty much every night these days.  Please send me your positive vibes, healthy immune systems and most of all, a dry weekend in Central Michigan where our family will be Friday through Monday.

Why I Love the Subway

This is another one of my favorite shots of Anna Fermin from a couple weeks ago.  I know most photographers love natural light, and I adore the warm light of the magic hour, but I secretly have a fluorescent light fetish.  Another reason I love the subway.

This Mom Rocks

I did a photoshoot of the talented singer-songwriter Anna Fermin (of Trigger Gospel) on Sunday. For part of the shoot, we took the Blue Line into the loop, and on our way down the long ramp at Racine, I noticed that the sun was just perfect so we did some shots right there. We missed our train, but I thought it was worth it.

Anna is also the cofounder of MOMSthatROCK! Productions, which stages concerts to support the goal "to provide aid for the global empowerment of girls and women, to improve health care and education and to support End Poverty by 2015--the historic promise 189 world leaders made at the United Nations Summit in 2000."

Anna, for sure, is a mom who ROCKS!
