Obama Fan

Something about seeing a guy in suspenders always puts a smile on my face.  Weren't they kind of in during the 80's or something?  And I liked his Obama baseball cap too.  Maybe he's a diehard fan or maybe he just needed something for his head.

I love my President and all, but I sure wish he'd hurry up on some things.  If LBJ could get the Civil Rights Act passed, the least Obama can do is repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."  That would be a start.

Anyhoo, I'm going off on a tangent.  This photo was something I snapped pretty quickly as the gentleman passed me on the street, and I must confess that I had a silly grin on my face as I clicked the shutter.

Believe

Looking at this photo, I'm reminded of the electricity so many of us collectively felt on the evening of last November 4th.  We were full of hope and ready for change, and we believed.  Now, 4 months later, with our economy in shambles, with so many more out of work, with so many more working who still can't afford the basic necessities in life, I hope that we can continue to believe and to do our part in bringing about that change we so yearned for.  

I know these are hard times for so many, and I just pray that in the midst of the darkness and fear and uncertainty that we will continue to hold on to hope, continue to love the least among us, continue to be comforted by a faith in all that is good and pure and beautiful and just in this universe...
